The best memory

Of all the great things that happened this Christmas, this is my favorite memory:

My baby boy laughed for the first time. I'm okay with the fact that it wasn't at me, 'cause it was just so damn cute! Here are a few cute pictures I took of the kids the last few days. The first two were taken before the Christmas Eve service at our church, in front of our tree. The other one was at GG & Papa's house on Christmas day.

Some random new pictures and videos!

Don't mind the blurred privates. I just had to show you my chubby boy's thighs.

Our first snow of the year. Taken Thursday. We got less than half an inch.

Here is Sierra's school picture from this year. This is actually a retake. The original was printed off-center.

Here is Tyner's school picture. He's getting so big. :(
Here's a super close-up of Zeke. Is he just not the sweetest thing in the world?

Here is Sierra being man-handled by a boy in her class. This was at her Christmas program. This is what my boy's belly looks like when he's all shlubbed over.

Here is a video of Sierra learning to cross her eyes.

And here's what life is like at our house. Jason trying to scare everyone. And Tyner being weird.

Oh, and notice that red spot on Tyner's cheek? It's Fifth Disease, also known as Slap Cheek. It's a virus. Apparently my son caught it somewhere. And gave it to me. It comes out in adults as joint pain, specifically hands, wrists, feet, and ankles. My left thumb, right wrist, and right foot and ankle have been achy for the last few weeks. It sucks.

So, anyway. Hope you enjoyed these snapshots of life around here. Later!

Marzetti

I made this dish for dinner last night called Marzetti. I got it from AllRecipes.com. It turned out pretty good. I really liked it, Jason said it was good, and the kids actually ate it in a relatively short time. It's a little tangy, from the tomato soup, but it wasn't TOO tangy. It's a pretty basic meal. No veggies or anything in it. So you would need to serve something on the side. I just cut up some carrot sticks. It makes a 9x13 pan worth. We ate about half of it, so there are some leftovers. I'm thinking it's gonna' be even better the next day.

I will type the recipe, so you don't have to click on the link to see it.

MARZETTI

1 lb ground beef
1 large onion, chopped
1/2 green bell pepper, chopped
1 (10.7z oz) can cream of mushroom soup
1 (10.75 oz) can tomato soup
1 (6 oz) can tomato paste
1 tsp salt
1/4 tsp dried oregano
1/4 tsp pepper
1/3 C water
1 T Worchestershire sauce
8 oz wide egg noodles, cooked and drained
1 C shredded Cheddar cheese

1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees.

2. Brown ground beef, onion, and green pepper. Drain off fat.

3. Stir in next nine ingredients (mushroom soup through the noodles).

4. Spoon into a greased 3-qt. casserole (9x13 pan).

5. Top with Cheddar cheese.

6. Cover and bake for 45 minutes.

Happy birthday baby!

Happy 6th Birthday, Sierra!!!

He snores like his old man...

Here is a video I took today of Zeke snoring. There isn't actually any picture (it was dark in the room), just sound. Make sure you turn up the volume so you can hear him.

Zeker Video

Here is a video I took of Zeke this morning. I was trying to get him to smile, but he wouldn't.

Well, I tried...

Okay, so my new camera came today (yeah, that's my eyebrow back there): I had a good time taking pictures of the kids and me:

And then I shot this:
**I would suggest letting it play all the way through once, to load it all, and then watching it the second time through.**

Yeah. Welcome to my world.

Can you see 'em?

Do you see the rolls? And the boobies? And the double chin? You should see his thighs! I love having a squishy, chubby baby!!!

Zeker - almost seven weeks...

Okay, so here are the long awaited pictures. Sorry it's been so long. BTW, the clothes Zeke has on in these pictures? 3-6 month clothes. He was 12lbs 6oz and 23 inches at his 6 week check-up. My boy is a chunk!

Zeke staring at...something...
Sierra & Zeke
Tyner & Zeke
Everybody in their jammies.
They were supposed to be looking at Zeke, but ended up looking at each other.

WERD!

He's a chubby boy...

Here are some pictures I took of Zeke today. We've never had a chubby baby before. But this boy is definitely chubby. He's got some rolls on his arms and legs, he's got some little boobies, and he's got a double chin and no neck. At his one week check-up, he was 8 lbs 9 oz. I took him to the doctor this week for a diaper rash (he's four weeks old now) and he weighs 11 lbs 6 oz. He has gained three pounds in three weeks! Here he is:

And here are a few close-up face pics. He's such a sweet boy!

So, who do you think he looks like?

Picture pages. Picture pages. Lots of fun with picture pages.

Okay, so it's about time for another post full of pictures, right? I mean, it has been, what? Three days? Oh yeah. We're about due. So, on with the show.

My burrito baby. Wrapped up in his Kiddopotamus SwaddleMe blanket thingy. Smiling in his sleep.
Look at how big he is!
Big yawn.
This is the pre-fullout scream face.
So, there you go. There is my adorable little baby boy.

We had our one week check-up yesterday. Zeke weighs 8 lbs 8 oz, which means he has passed his birth weight. The ladies at the doctor's office were very impressed by that. He showed off his scream and his stare while we were there. Oh, and his peeing abilities.

So, Zeke's umbilical cord fell off last night. I told myself that when it did, I would start using the cloth diapers I bought. So, it starts today. I will try to write a post throughout the day, or the next few days, to let you know how it goes. Check back later for that post.

Okay, it's getting close to eating time for that baby, so I should go. See ya' later!

HE'S HERE!!!

Ezekiel Ray Hudson
Born 10/10/07
(on his great-great-grandpa Charlie's 100th birthday)
at 1:51 p.m.
8 lbs, 7 oz
19 inches long
Here he is shortly after birth. Very puffy, and very blotchy. Cute, but not really. Here is the big sister and her new baby brother! And here is the brand new big brother!

Well, I'm not really up to typing the whole birth story right now. But I will do it one of these days. I'm actually typing one-handed, as I've got Zeke in one arm, wrapped up like a burrito and staring at me.

But, things are going well. The kids love having a new baby. There hasn't been any jealousy or anything. If anything, they love him a little TOO much. They always want to hold and hug and kiss him. So, it's all good.

Except, of course, for the cramping, the engorgement, and the lack of sleep. But all of that will pass. So yeah, it's all good.

Well, that's it for now. I'm going to try to find some lunch before Zeke wakes up to eat.

Oh, and by the way...according to my son, I feed the baby from my "nibbles." Just so you know.

Will Return Friday

Well, we're off on the great adventure tomorrow morning.

Needless to say, I won't be on the computer for a few days. I will try to get on sometime on Friday, to give you all an update, and maybe post some pictures. It will just depend on how the baby and I are feeling, and what family life is looking like.

Can't wait to talk to you all soon. But not too soon!!!

Copy of the email update I sent...

***Thought I'd post this, for all of you who didn't get it in your inbox.***

Okay, I was going to write a blog post about this, but I decided I didn't feel like it right now. So, I figured I'd write a quick email to let everyone know the latest news.

I am going to be induced tomorrow. Dr. Wilson decided it was the perfect day, since he is off, and Renee (his wife and the midwife) will be working OB tomorrow. I am four days past my due date, and I am already 4 cm, 100% effaced, and the baby is at about a +1 station. I'm not sure what method the doctor prefers for induction, but I've heard he likes to do Pitocin.

So, Jason and I will be at the hospital at 8:00 am tomorrow. The kids will come after school with Jason's grandparents. They've got school pictures tomorrow, so I won't let them miss!

Please keep us in your thoughts and prayers as we go tomorrow. We're very excited, of course. But I'm a little nervous about getting Pitocin, as I've heard labor comes on hard and fast with it. Tyner's induction, labor, and birth were so easy that I'm scared this one is going to be completely opposite! Also pray for us and the kids as we bring the new baby home; that everyone will adjust well to this major change.

Thanks so much. We will send out pictures (or I will post them on my blog) as soon as possible.

Soccer game pictures

***A QUICK NOTE: I HAVE A DOCTOR'S APPOINTMENT TUESDAY MORNING AT 8:30, SO I WILL POST ABOUT IT IN THE AFTERNOON SOMETIME.***

Okay. I went to Sierra's game tonight (without Tyner), and actually took some real pictures of her playing. I thought I'd post some of them for you to see. Enjoy!

WARMING UP BEFORE THE GAME.

HERE'S HOW YOU REALLY PLAY GOALIE.

GOOFING AROUND WITH LUKE, INSTEAD OF PLAYING THE GAME.

GOING AFTER THE BALL. I THINK.

Boyo got a haircut.

Since school pictures are on Wednesday, we decided it was time for Tyner Joe to get a haircut. He was lookin' a little fro-y on top. So, we embarked on the great adventure of giving a buzz cut to a boy who hates buzz cuts.

He didn't want to sit still, he has an annoying habit of moving his head all the time, he didn't like the clippers, he wanted to play, blah blah blah. Needless to say, it was a little stressful for all of us. But it ended well, with a cute cut, and a little playtime in the bathtub (for Tyner, not us).

So, here are the pictures.

FROM MOP:

TO CROP:

NO BABY YET!

No, I have not had the baby yet. I'm already feeling frustrated about this, so please don't call and ask me if I've had him yet. You will hear when I do.

Thanks.

Another Update

I took Sierra to the doctor's today. The poor girl has strep throat, and is absolutely miserable. She is now on antibiotics, and can go back to school on Wednesday. I am switching the kids from the clinic in Etna to my doctor in Fort Jones. So, that is who we went to see today. Well, not the doctor, but his wife, who is a Nurse Practitioner. This is the lady I was supposed to have an appointment with tomorrow afternoon.

So, we decided, since I was already there, that we would just go ahead and do my prenatal appointment. Gosh, I love small towns! So, she checked me. I am a "good" 3 cm (not sure what "good" means exactly, if it's just a three, or more than a three but not a four, or what), if not 100% effaced than pretty darn close, and the baby is still at a 0 (zero) station. So, I'm completely effaced and have gone another centimeter in a week. Woohoo. At this rate, I'll have him sometime in November! Just kidding.

Well, that's all I have to update. Still no major or regular contractions. No water breaking. Nothing cool. I'll let you know more when I know more.

Another "soccer" picture

Okay, I know I already posted some pictures from Sierra's soccer. But I had to post this picture too. It's such a cute one of Sierra.

Soccer Pictures

Okay, so Sierra is playing soccer this year. She loves it, even though she gets a bit distracted sometimes. I have decided that I'm not going to be a very good sports mom. I get to uptight when she just stands there, or when she gets distracted. Of course, it doesn't help that at the last game (the one where I was uptight), that Tyner was being a complete and total butt head. Needless to say, he no longer goes to the games, and Jason and I will be switching who goes to the games and who stays home. At least until the baby comes, then I will just stay home.

Anyway. I thought I'd post a couple of pictures from soccer. One is Sierra and Tyner together. The next is Sierra in her soccer uniform. And the last one is her on the field. I'm hoping to go to her game on Monday (just me!), so I'm going to try to get some more pictures then.

Enjoy!
