7 months old? Already?

Well, Zeke was 7 months old on Saturday. I can't believe how quickly the time has come and gone. He is getting so big. He sits up really straight and strong now. He is lasting a lot longer during tummy time before getting upset. He is sleeping between 10 and 12 hours at night. He has been eating solid foods for about a month now. He has already had (and loved) rice cereal, oatmeal, pears, peaches, squash, carrots, green beans, apples, and bananas. We are starting peas tomorrow. If babies could have a favorite food, I would say Zeke's favorite is bananas. He gets so excited when he sees me pick up a banana. He also has started getting very excited when I get myself ready for nursing. It's very funny. Let's see. What else is totally great about my baby that I can write about while my video is loading? He absolutely adores his brother and sister. And his daddy, too. And his mommy, but that goes without saying. He positively lights up when any of them walk into the room. He will practically turn himself upside down trying to get a look at them if they go by him. He loves to play in his Exersaucer, especially with the little beady things. His favorite toy right now is a little stuffed fish on a bunch of plastic links. We take it with us in the car, in both strollers, and when we walk around. He loves to chew on it. OH! That reminds me. Just in time for his 7 month birthday, he has started teething. When I can pry his mouth open, I can see the little white marks on his gums. He is chewing on everything, and slobbering all over the place. He gets a little fussy occasionally, but I give him some teething tablets and he's fine. I can't wait to see those cute little teeth pop through, but I'm kinda' scared of getting bit. Yikes. Well, anyway. My video was done loading like, five minutes ago. I guess I will put it on here and go to bed. Later!

This is some video of Zeke talking to me. And staring at the camera. I get to have lots of these conversations everyday. So much fun!

Mother's Day gifts

Yesterday was Mother's Day. We didn't do much, and I wasn't treated overly princess-y. But that's okay. My kids presented me with several gifts, which made me feel very special. Here are most of them.

Something Sierra planted for me. We aren't quite sure what it is yet. But hey, if you recognize those leaves, feel free to tell me. This pot is really cute, it's a paper she colored herself and it's inside a plastic shell. She made this at school, along with a ceramic plaque thing that has her handprint on it. And Tyner planted this at school. Again, not sure what it is. But the "pot" is a milk carton covered in tissue paper. Oh, and he found that egg shell on the ground outside one of our bird houses.
This is a heart Tyner made for me at church. That is his name written on it.
This is a card Sierra made for me in Sunday school. The inside is in the next picture. Each flower on the inside of the card holds a little slip of paper (you can see one sticking out of the darker blue flower). On each paper is written something she is going to do for me. The papers say: I will help you clean the house, I will help you cook, I will help you take care of Baby Zeke, I will help you wash the dishes, and I will help you take care of the family. So sweet. Now if only I would actually let her help me with that stuff...

And this is a candle jar Sierra painted in junior church. It was still wet when she gave it to me. That's why the green and blue flower is smeared. It is strawberry kiwi scented, and it actually smells pretty good. We will see how it smells once we light it, though.Well, that is all the gifts for this year. I felt very loved this Mother's Day. Now maybe next year I can get Jason to buy me the diamond earrings I want....

At the playground.

Well, I was finally a nice mom, and I took my kids to the park. Two days in a row, even. The first day, the big kids and I went to the Etna City Park. A friend of mine ended up being there with her three kids. So while they all played, she and I got to visit. On Saturday I took all three kids to the elementary school playground. Here are some pictures from that. I know there are a lot of them, but I actually deleted a lot.

Sierra's new obsession is the monkey bars. If she is at a playground, she is on the monkey bars. I had a hard time getting her to do anything else. We actually discovered a blister on her hand today, from going across the monkey bars so much. Tyner playing with the tic-tac-toe board.
Making them stand still for a posed picture is always fun.
Going down the slide the right way.
All alone while Mommy takes pictures.
Monkey bars again.
This is how Tyner swings when no one will help him up onto the swing.
And again....
Going down the slide the wrong way.
Checking out the ants.
Over the jungle gym.
She even makes monkey bars out of things that aren't monkey bars.
Just looking pretty.
Wondering what's going on.
Trying to eat the camera.
The three of them together.
I actually used the timer for this one.
Well, there are those pictures. It's time to go feed Zeke. Then I will be back on to post some more stuff.

A visit with the cows.

I looked out our back window yesterday and saw this. Tyner loves animals of all kinds. That is why it is so great living next to cows and horses! Okay, I'm being a little sarcastic, but he actually does like it. I'm not sure what he was talking to the cows about, but they seemed very interested.

And this is just a cute picture of him that I took through the window. Notice the farmer-ish piece of grass hanging out of his mouth.

Okay, that's it for tonight. I will post the rest of my pictures tomorrow.

Playing with the camera.

Here are some pictures of the kids and I. I was just playing around with my camera.
Tyner through the front door.
Sierra looking outside.
Beautiful girl.
Me and Sierra.
What a pathetic face.
That's better.

Okay, that's it for those. Off to post more.

And here is a video of the big kids. They have so much fun playing together. When they aren't fighting, that is. Oh. and don't mind the little *toot* at the end. Sierra wanted me erase that part, but I couldn't.
